Ubergizmo was recently one of the media partners and innovation award judges at the 2021 SME Innovation Technology Exhibition or ITS 2021. We will tell you which companies we selected as the top three. In the photo above, I expressed my impression of being with the nominee.

The physical ITS 2021 event was held at SETEC, a trade show and exhibition center located in the eastern part of Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

With the support of the Korean Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), the goal is to clarify innovative products that may succeed globally. This year's slogan is "K-innovation at the beginning of the Great Revolution".

The local jury conducted the first round of selection with about 200 products exposed. We were then asked to select three out of eleven based on global marketability, innovation and competitiveness standards.

Ubergizmo Discovery is a series of discovering global innovators in collaboration with technology events, incubators, accelerators and local media.

The company's smart fire extinguisher is our favorite product on ITS 2021. It is more like a chemical product than an electronic product, but please check: it is a passive and stable compound that releases an extinguishing agent called KF-5-1-12 when activated by heat.

The compound is stable and can be cut into different shapes by the user and then attached to any surface. It is about as thick as double-sided tape. Therefore, it can be placed in any important location, even in the power socket on the wall. The same compound is also sold as a para rope that can be wrapped or hung.

It seems to work better in enclosed spaces, such as switchboards, closets, safes, etc. If there are enough, the sky is the limit. It is not only our first choice, but also the big winner of the show.

Rope Inc's Baton products are powered by car cigarette lighters. It has a motion sensor that can detect when an accident occurs in the vehicle and call emergency services through the driver's smartphone using the correct GPS coordinates. The goal is to speed up the final arrival at the hospital during prime time.

In addition, the device can also analyze the driver's daily driving style. Some insurance companies have found that Baton's "good driver" is sufficient to justify the discount. Even the government will provide benefits such as parking discounts for outstanding drivers.

Fortunately, serious accidents rarely happen, so Baton also helps to deal with minor accidents by assisting users to instantly connect to car insurance.

The VPIX EndoPix microscope can be a very effective way for surgeons to analyze cancer cells through in-vivo imaging during tumor surgery, without the need for biopsy. Real-time analysis will be the deciding factor in determining whether there is a tumor in the area and whether it should be removed. Another method is to send the sample to the laboratory and wait for the results to come out. During this period, the patient is still under anesthesia.

The longer they wait, the greater the risk of surgery and the longer the recovery time. For this reason, it is best to perform analysis as soon as possible to make the operation more effective and less traumatic to the patient.

So far, the first prototype has been up and running, and another development iteration is in progress based on the doctor's feedback. The next version should be ready for more testing at the "end of this year". (Video interview: VPIX at the ITS2021 exhibition site)

We have added ITS to the list of trade shows we want to visit at some point, but the virtual options provided provide a good understanding of its contents. It is not always easy to choose which product is more innovative, but we think these three products are excellent.

See the table below for website and direct video links. Korean speakers can also check out the new ITS Youtube channel. On ITS 2021, all nominees gathered in a small room to facilitate their interviews with Aving Media, which requires each company to show itself in front of the camera.
